설장수와 함께 공양왕을 옹립한 공으로 1등공신이 되고,
옥천부원군에 봉해졌다. 고려가 망하자 순창에 들어가 다시 벼슬하지
않고 끝까지 절의를 지킨 고려의 충신이다. 이색(李穡,
牧隱) 등과 함께 5은으로
불리었다.
