이숭인(李崇仁), 원천석(元天錫)과 함께 목은(牧隱)
이색(李穡)에게 사사하여 문장과 덕행으로 고명했다. 고려 말에
벼슬이 사복경에 이르렀는데 조선이 개국되자 벼슬을 버리고 은거하며
절의를 지켰다.
