변응정 (邊應井)
선조 때 무과에 급제, 월송만호, 선전관 등을
거쳐 1592년 임진왜란(壬辰倭亂) 때 해남현감으로써 전공을 세워 수군절도사가
되었다. 금산의 적을 김제군수 정담(鄭湛)과 함께 무찔러 큰
전과를 올렸으나 전사했다. 적은 그의 무덤을 만들고 '조선국충간의담'이라는
표목을 세웠고 조정에서는 정문을 세웠다.
