서련(徐憐)
1511년(중종 16) 무과에 급제, 제주판관에
부임했다. 당시 한라산 석굴에 큰 뱀이 풍우조화를 부리며
요사를 무리므로 관민이 두려워하여 봄 가을로 15세 처녀를 바쳐 왔는데,
그 뱀을 죽여 없애어 민심을 안정시켰다. 도민들이 송덕비를
세웠다.
