허침 (許琛)
시중 허공의 후손이며, 허손의 아들이다.
1475년(성종 6) 알성문과에 급제하여 학문과 덕행으로 세자의 총애를 받았으며, [삼강행실]을 산정했다.
1502년(연산 8)
이조판서, 우참찬과 우의정을 거친 그는 좌의정에 이르러 항상 연산군의 폭정을 바로 잡으려고 애썼으며 학문이 깊고 문장이 뛰어났다.
특히
상신의 자리에 있으면서도 가난한 선비 생활로 주위의 칭송을 받았으며, 청백리에 녹선되었다.
