 최만리 (崔萬理)

 

 


  최하의 아들이다.

  1419년(세종 1) 증광문과에 급제하고,
  홍문관에 기용되어 집현전 박사를 겸임했다.
  1427년 교리로서 문과중시에 급제하고,
  1437년 집현전 직제학을 거쳐
  이듬해 부제학에 승진했으며,
  1439년 강원도 관찰사로 나갔다가
  다음해 다시 부제학이 되었다.
  훈민정음이 창제된 후
  1444년 6조목의 이유를 들어 이를 반대하여 한때 왕의 노여움을 샀으며,
  환관의 사모 착용이 고제에 어긋남을 지적하고, 중국의 제도에 따르도록 주장하여 시행케 했다.

  직간으로 당시 명성이 높았고 청백리에 녹선되었다.
