 최강 (崔堈)

 

 


  최운철의 아들이다.
  1585년(선조 18) 무과에 급제,
  1592년 임진왜란이 일어나자 형 최균과 함께 고성에서 의병을 일으켜 진주, 웅천, 진해 등지에서 공을 세워 오위도총부 경력이 되고,
  뒤에 가리포 첨절제사에 승진하여 화공법으로 왜적을 무찔러 순천부사에 올랐다.
  다음해 경상좌도 수군절도사, 부총관을 지내고, 광해군 때 충청도 수군절도사에 임명되었으나 정치의 혼란으로 벼슬을 버리고 은퇴했다.
  그 후 포도대장에 임명되었으나 병을 핑계로 사퇴했다.

  병조판서에 추증,

  고성의 도산사에 제향되었다.
