 박규수 (朴珪壽)

 

 


  박지원의 손자이며,
  박종채의 아들이다.

  1848년(현종 14) 증광문과에 병과로 급제하여
  정언, 병조좌랑 등을 거쳐
  1864년(고종 1) 병조참판, 대제학, 공조판서 등을 역임했다.
  그 후 평안도 관찰사를 거쳐
  1873년 우의정에 올라 사임,
  다음해 다시 판중추부사가 되었다.
  1875년 운양호 사건으로 일본이 수교를 요구하자 이에 호응, 강화도 조약을 맺게 했으며, 서양 사정에 밝아 신문물 수입과 문호 개방을 주장했다.

  고종의 묘정에 배향되었다.
